FAQs

Q: How many times a day can I workout with my Cybercise membership?
A: As many times as you would like! Your Cybercise membership gives you unlimited access to our programs.

Q: How much does a membership cost?
A: Cybercise costs $10.00 per month. The total cost for a full year of workouts, on demand, is $120.00. A health club membership can cost you that much each month!

Q: How were your programs developed?
A: Our programs and routines were developed by certified fitness professionals. We will be adding new programs all the time to keep your workouts interesting and exciting. Please use the suggestion box under the Community section to give us ideas about the workouts you would like to see.

Q: Is working out with Cybercise safe?
A: Everyone should visit their doctor and get a medical clearance before beginning any type of workout program. The Cybercise programs were created by fitness professionals and designed to help you fit fitness into your life. Remember to use common sense and listen to your body. If you have questions about a program or your health status, check with your doctor. For most people, starting slow and easy is generally safe.

Q: How does Cybercise work?
A: The Cybercise programs are played using “Flash” video technology and delivered in a video window directly on your computer. You can enlarge the video window to full screen if you so choose. You will have to download the Flash player (for free) to enjoy our programs.

Q: What computer equipment do I need?
A: You will need a high-speed or broadband connection to the internet, the Flash video player and a computer that will play sound. Most computers will be ready to use Cybercise without any additional steps.

Q: What exercise equipment do I need?
We have created many programs that don’t require any special equipment. Some of our programs do require equipment like free weights or exercise bands, but those are easily identified. We have also created some routines that will use common household and office items to help you workout with what you have available.

Q: Can you explain the program names?
We've created a standard naming convention to help you understand what is in each program. The names might seem strange at first, but once you get the hang of it, it is easy. You'll notice program names like Abs I (10 M) and Abs II (10 M). Any program with a "I" designation is first level program and programs with a "II" is a more difficult program. The "10 M" is the length of the program, in this case 10 minutes.

Q: Can I share my membership with my friends?
A: No, your membership is for your use only. Your login and password are unique to you and should be protected like any other login and password. Your Cybercise account will enable you to create your own workout calendar to help you plan and keep track of your workouts – you don’t want to share your calendar with your friends! In addition, each person can only be signed in once at a time so if you share your login with someone else you might not be able to get onto the site for your scheduled workout.
Don’t forget – Cybercise memberships make great gifts!

Q: How does the calendar work?
A: The calendar is a flexible tool that allows you to plan, manage and monitor your workouts. You can add your favorite Cybercise programs to your calendar and also add activities done outside of Cybercise. The calendar is designed to help you maximize your workout time and design your own fitness approach that will help you meet your goals. If you’d like, you can have the calendar email you reminders about upcoming routines so you don’t forget to workout.

Q: I love Cybercise and would like to get my company to pay for the membership. How can I help my boss see how much this will help me and my co-workers?
A: Show your boss or your human resources department the information under the “Health” titled “Workplace Wellness” and “The Benefits of Exercise”. If they are interested, have them contact us at corporatesales@cyber-cise.com. We’ll have someone from our corporate office take it from there.

Q: My girlfriends and I all use Cybercise and we’d like to share tips and techniques with one another. How can we do this?
A: Cybercise includes a "pal" feature to allow you to connect to your friends and colleagues. Our pal feature will allow you to stay connected and share your Cybercise experience with those people you invite and approve. We've also included a challenge feature to allow you to challenge and encourage your pals to use Cybercise to meet their fitness goals. Get healthy together!

Our community forum is a great way for you to share information with people who are not your pals. There are many sections to the community forum including Favorite Programs and Support and Encouragement. There is also a forum titled Suggestion Box - we would love hear your ideas on how to make Cybercise better.

Q: I posted to the forum but I don’t see my comment yet?
A: As with most forum based systems, we have staff that read and approve forum posts before they are posted on the open system. This is a sad consequence of some people posting inappropriate things to websites. We promise to only reject content of an inappropriate nature (i.e., profanity).

Q: I can’t seem to get Cybercise to work. Can you help?
A: First check a few things. Do you have the flash player installed? Are you using a high-speed internet connection? Is your high speed connection working? Are your speakers working? Go to Microsoft Windows Help and Support center through Control Panel and follow the instructions that best identify your problem. If you’ve checked all of these things and still no luck, contact us at help@cyber-cise.com.

Q: How can I workout when I have to be able to see my computer screen?
A: This can be a challenge at first. We suggest that you watch a program for the first time from beginning to end and not try to follow along with all of the exercises. Watch the program and be sure you understand the form and function of each movement throughout the program. Once you feel comfortable with the program, turn your monitor to the spot where you’ll workout, turn the volume up so you can hear and give it a go! Most people find that once they’ve done a routine 2 or 3 times they don’t really need to watch the screen all the time but follow more along from the verbal instructions.

Q: Can I play these programs on my television?
A: There are ways to play computer content on your television and the good news is that the technology is getting better and better each day. We suggest you contact your local computer store to see what things you’d need to do for your specific equipment. It is possible and even easy for some. We’ll keep our members posted as technology evolves to make this easier and easier!

Q: What are the benefits of Cybercise versus a health club membership?
A: Cybercise brings the convenience of exercise right to you when you want it. You don’t need to drive to the gym, find a parking space and wait for others to finish using the equipment you want. You don’t have to worry about not looking as good as the gym rats that hang out there all the time. With Cybercise, your workouts are for you and about you – just the way it should be!

Q: Why is there no music with the programs?
A: We believe music is a very personal decision – each person’s tastes and moods can be very different. We didn’t want to force you to workout to whatever random music we selected. Ask our friends, you could be stuck with some real interesting choices. We suggest you play your favorite tunes while you’re doing your favorite programs. The added benefit of this freedom is you can change your own music with each program to suit your own mood. What a bonus!
